Based on the latest reports from the IPCC the editorial team behind the book has selected 100 very special places around the world, that might disappear or be heavily hit by climate change due to global warming. In his foreword Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, who in 2007 received the Nobel Peace Price on behalf of UN’s Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change, says: “By…highlighting 100 places that the world holds dear, this whole project is turning the attention to something that hopefully will bring about decitions that might actually protect these beautiful, valuable and precious places on Earth.”
Besides 100 unique and beautiful pictures the book features 100 short and precise captions telling the stories of the places, and how climate change can affect them. A number of ambassadors of the project give in the book their personal impression and experience of climate change. Among these are former Archbishop Desmond Tutu, actress Connie Nielsen. singer-songwriter Joss Stone, Australian minister of environment and former lead-singer in the band Midnight Oil Peter Garrett and singer and producer of The Eurythmics Dave Stewart.
