October 30: Annie Lennox joins Aretha Franklin live at Madison Square Garden
“It gives us great pleasure to announce that Annie Lennox will join Aretha Franklin and Lenny Kravitz on stage for the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert to be held in Madison Square Gardens, New York on 30th October 2009.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was formed in 1983. One of the Foundation’s many functions is to recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll by inducting them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This very special 25th Anniversary concert is held over two nights (29th and 30th October). Each night will highlight different artists that will not only celebrate their music, but invite musical guests to join them onstage for what will be two unforgettable evenings with unique collaborations. The lineup includes: Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Simon and Garfunkle, Paul Simon, Crosby, Stills Nash and Young, U2, Metallica and Eric Clapton.”
