Dave Stewart about his song Christmas Is For Lovers

Dave Stewart wrote about “Xmas Is For Lovers”, one of his four released Christmas song, in the Huffington Post yesterday. This is what Dave had to say:

logo_huffingtonpost“You don’t have to look very far to see the romance of the holidays is losing out to greed, consumerism and great deals on flat-screen TVs. I say we romantics of the world unite and take the holiday back.

In the meantime, here’s a little number to remind us that, with all due respect to the man in the red suit, Christmas is really a time for lovers. So sit back, relax, and listen to our gift to you, maybe with a martini or two, hopefully in the embrace of someone you love.

We recorded this track at the famed Capital Records Studio B, where Frank Sinatra recorded some of his most beloved hits. Few have inspired romance like the Chairman of the Board. It’s also meant to be shared and dedicated to those in love — a throw back to time when hopeless romantics would ring their disc jockey and dedicate “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” to their long lost lover.

I dedicate this song to my beautiful wife Anoushka. She is everything to me, at Christmas and always.” (original article)

You can listen to and download all of the four songs here.

Christmas Is for Lovers

Christmas is for lovers

Wouldn’t you agree

A time when you discover

With whom you’re meant to be

Christmas is for lovers

Just like you and me

When the nights get darker

Short days are crisp and clear

That’s when magic fills the air

And romances appear

After summers long embrace

And autumn’s leafy kiss

Winter comes in snowy white

A show of lovers’ bliss

Christmas is for lovers

Wouldn’t you agree

A time when you discover

With whom you’re meant to be

Christmas is for lovers

Just like you and me

Every time you see the stars

Shining down on Christmas Eve

They are there to remind you

In case you don’t believe

Christmas is for lovers

Wouldn’t you agree

A time when you discover

With whom you’re meant to be

Christmas is for lovers

Just like you and me
